Favourite book: Me To We by Craig Kielburger and anything by the Irish writer Maeve Binchy

Favourite food: Seafood

Favourite web site: www.plan.ca and www.philia.ca

Favourite music: Classical - particularly Mozart

Favourite destination spot: Cozumel, Mexico (I've been there 8 times!)

Childhood idol: President John. F. Kennedy - (that dates me!)

Your hero: Katharine Hepburn - she did it her way!

Why you decided to work in the nonprofit sector: I started as a volunteer and the vortex sucked me in!!

Person who has had the most influence on you: Richard Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute. I had the privilege of working with him for part of my career.

In three words, describe charity: Caring for others.

Favourite charities you support, excluding your own: Médecins Sans Frontières, Vancouver YWCA, St. Augustine's School Capital Campaign (I'm volunteer chair)

What two things would you like to see changed in the sector in the next five years?: That every organization has enough money to achieve its mission! And that the sector is treated as an equal partner with government and business for its contribution to the health of Canadian society. (Boy can I dream!!)

Favourite saying: "It's much easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission."

Favourite hobby: Kayaking anywhere on the West Coast.

If you could spend 30 minutes with anyone, who would it be?: Nelson Mandela

Fantasy fundraising event: Organizations no longer need to hold fundraising events because everything is funded! (How's that for fantasy??)

Which movie star would you pick as your group's honorary chair?: Michael J. Fox

Favourite joke you can share with children and adults: I never remember jokes - or I screw up the punch line!!
