Why you decided to work in the nonprofit sector: I started as a volunteer and the vortex sucked me in!!
Person who has had the most influence on you: Richard Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute. I had the privilege of working with him for part of my career.
In three words, describe charity: Caring for others.
Favourite charities you support, excluding your own: Médecins Sans Frontières, Vancouver YWCA, St. Augustine's School Capital Campaign (I'm volunteer chair)
What two things would you like to see changed in the sector in the
next five years?: That every organization has enough money to achieve
its mission! And that the sector is treated as an equal partner with
government and business for its contribution to the health of Canadian
society. (Boy can I dream!!)
Favourite saying: "It's much easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission."
Favourite hobby: Kayaking anywhere on the West Coast.

Fantasy fundraising event: Organizations no longer need to hold fundraising events because everything is funded! (How's that for fantasy??)
